 Happy New Year! 2025 was an incredibly strange year for me. Losing my dad in May really shifted my whole universe and as much as this year felt like a great triumph in finding myself artistically again, I also lost so much in the process. I miss my dad every day, and he was the biggest supporter of my career and ambitions. With every piece of art I continue to make, a little bit of his memory and my gratitude lives on. Amidst the chaos, I'm still really proud of my creative journey this year as I learned and grew so much as a character designer & storyteller. I am grateful for my job for inspiring me every day to tell stories that matter. I spent most of this year celebrating #TheMuppets70 celebration on social media with other Muppet fans to create 70 weeks of fan-art. Thank you to @themuppets social media accounts for sharing so much of my work! I feel like drawing The Muppets gave me a unique opportunity to really grow as a character designer and this year felt very pivotal to me stylistically. I can't wait to carry this zany cartoony muppety energy into 2026! And of course my favorite part - here's all of my art summary's over the years. I can't believe I've done this for 15 years now!!! Who is Kati?
Kati Treu is a character designer, storyteller, and toy maker with a passion for TV animation and toys (particularly dolls & plush). Her characters are bold and quirky with a dash of humor. She graduated from MIAD in 2019 with a BFA in Illustration and is located in her hometown, Madison, WI. Currently, she works at Huntress where she helps make Security Awareness Training (SAT) cartoons with an awesome team of animators. Archives
