Summer is almost over, and that means it's back to school time. However, unlike just about any other year, I'm not dreading going back. This time is different. I'm finally going off to college - and an art school, for that matter! I've never felt more excited to go off to school than ever before.
This year, I hope to learn so much more about my craft, and to excel at everything I do! I hope you all continue to follow me on this journey. <3
Also a BIG Thank You to everyone who ordered from me this summer! I tried to offer some special deals for the summer - and I'm so glad that they were enjoyed by you guys as well!
Here are ALL of the $5 Portrait doodles I created this summer!
Alright, well looks like it's time for me to go back to packing for my dorm! (Ahh!)
Thanks again, for all the continuous support! I can't wait to keep sharing my art with all of you. <3
Hey guys! So OF COURSE, you probably know that SDCC is going on right now. It's that time of year where my social media feeds fill up with all kinds of Nerdy & Geeky wonders. I dream to someday have my own booth at Comic-Con (cause how COOL would that be?!) but for now, I'm stuck doodling at home.
For this weekend only, I'm gonna offer a coupon code in my store in honor of all the lovely artists living my dream at Comic Con! Click on the STORE tab, add one of my pieces to your cart, and then use coupon code KATICON for 25% off all items!
Also my great friend, David Wilson, has uploaded his story "The Strangest Party" to SwoonReads.com. Do him a favor by rating it 5 stars! He could get $15,000 if they choose to publish his book. All you have to do is go to http://www.swoonreads.com/m/the-strangest-party, create a Swoon Reads account, and then rate it 5/5. You don't have to read it, but I recommend that you do! It's a good story. :)
Goodbye highschool. Hello SUMMER!
I'm so ecstatic to finally have finished this chapter in my life. It's been quite the journey, I must say. I've accomplished many things these past 4 years, and I've met so many amazing people. Although I'm going to miss my friends incredibly, I'm beyond ready to begin the next big step in my art career. In the Fall, I will be attending the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. I can't wait to see what MIAD has to offer for me, and I hope you all will continue on this journey with me. :)
This summer I plan on being a lot more active with my site, blog, and store. I have lots of ideas for new promos and items to sell so stay tuned for those!
Stay in touch with me through twitter and instagram. I post on those most regularly.
Lots of love,
Happy Birthday to the most incredible, hardworking, dedicated, thoughtful, kind, breathtaking, and bold woman I know. Traci Hines is a beautiful human being inside and out and I'm so honored to get to know her! I discovered her on YouTube 6 years ago from her Thinking Of You by Katy Perry cover. I immediately was drawn to her magical voice, and after hours of marathoning her videos I knew I was hooked! It's so amazing to look back from then to now and see how much she's changed, and see the proof of all her hard work paying off. Traci has been my muse for the longest time, and I find pieces of inspiration from everything she does. In honor of her birthday I decided to make this drawing of her, encompassing some of her favorite things. Of course, the drawing is her as Princess Serenity (Sailor Moon) from her music video for Carry On. However, I wanted to do something different by adding a few touches of Ariel. (Starfish instead of a moon on her forehead & her gorgeous red locks!) And the last detail is kind of subtle, but can anyone spot the second star to the right? ;) Anyways, thank you Traci, for all that you do! You give me strength and inspire me in so many ways and I'm forever grateful for your kindness and friendship. I love you to the moon and back. 😁🌌🌙❤👑🎉

A few days ago my mom nominated me for the Kid, You'll Move Mountains Scholarship from Dr. Suess Enterprises and the NEA. I'm happy to announce that my entry has made it to the voting round!
Many of you have been huge supporters of my art for the past few years, and I'm officially going off to art school next fall. Of course, it will be pricey. Winning this scholarship would be a dream come true for me. So, if you could take a few minutes to put in your vote, I would be so appreciative.
Did I mention... everyone who votes is entered to win a $500 prize? You can vote once per day, so get to it and help this doodlebug out. ;)
So please, head on over and vote for my entry. CLICK HERE to get to my entry (and yes! Kati is short for Katrina! hehe)
You can vote every day until April 12th.
I hope you chose to support me, and please share with your friends and family. :]
Thanks so much.
Hey everyone! I'm so excited to finally share my short film from my film class final! It was such an honor to collaborate with the lovely and talented Kristin Rose to create this film! I've been a dedicated #rosebud for YEARS. And the fact that Kristin supports my career as well is a dream come true (I bet my 8th grade self is fangirling hardcore...hehe)
Our final assignment was to create a short film. At first I wanted to do a film entirely in animation, but I knew I would go insane! lol! That's when I came up with the idea of doing something live action AND animation! Of course, I've animated Kristin plenty of times back when she was with Friday Night Cranks, so I thought it would be fun to bring her back into another animation! I'm so happy that she agreed to do this with me. <3 Thank you Kristin! I love you so much! I'm so thankful for all the inspiration you've given me throughout the years.
I tried a different style for this animation, and also directed this film long distance! (Kristin is located in New York.) It was such a fun project and I'd love to direct more films!
I would love to hear all of your thoughts about the film! So, with that, this is Timeless. Please check it out and enjoy! <3 XOXO
ALSO be sure to check out Kristin's BRAND NEW WEBSITE www.kristinrosemusic.com! It's SO COOL!
Ps...can you spot my cameo appearance?
How is your 2015 going? I hope it started on a good note. I just wanted to make a short blog post to let you all know that I'm taking a short hiatus. I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Cincinnati! I will be visiting the Art Academy of Cincinnati. I'm very excited to see the school and see if it's the place where I will make my future happen! Then from there I'm heading to Louisville to visit family. When I come back next week, I have finals at school. SO, with me being out of town and having studying to do I will not be accepting any orders from now until January 22nd. BUT as soon as I get back I've got a few things planned for you all.
I'll give you a hint at a couple of them. ;)
1. The statement abovecontains a hint. I did this promo last year and it was really successful!
2. I'm collaborating with one of my favorite people of all time to create something for school that I'm sure you'll all enjoy. <3
Thanks for being patient with me, those of you who have ordered in the past few weeks. Sorry it's been taking so long!
Of course, keep in touch with me on instagram and twitter @katidoodlesmuch to hear all about my road trip to Cincy this weekend.
Lots of love,
Thank you SO much to everyone who purchased a 2015 Calendar! There are only 2 left in stock. I can't believe it. I never thought I would sell as many as I did.
I will not be ordering a 2nd batch of calendars, unfortunately. I may, however, have some made to order if there is a demand for more after I sell the last 2. We'll see how it goes!
Those of you who got a calendar - What do you think? I would love to hear what you have to say. I'm also curious to know if you guys would like to see a calendar in 2016 and what kind of theme you'd be interested in seeing me take on.
In other news... I'm working on a film for my Writing Thru Film class in school and I'm very excited to share it. I'm collaborating with a great friend of mine to create a Live Action / Animated film. That should be out before the end of the month.
Also, I will be visiting the Art Academy of Cincinnati next weekend. I'm very excited! I haven't made any decisions about my schooling yet, but I'm very eager to see what my future has in store and if AAC will be a stepping stone for me? Who knows....
Lastly, I know there's been a large demand for my $20 Couple Doodles again this year for Valentine's Day! I will be bringing them back for sure. Expect more info about that soon. <3
Have a great week, doodlebugs!
Lots of love,
Happy New Year, everyone! I just wanted to say how thankful I am for all the support I've received this past year. I feel so honored knowing that there are people all over the country (and world!) who appreciate my art. I hope to create so much more in 2015. Please, join me, and look back through all the art I've made this year in my latest video down below. In this video is every drawing I have made throughout 2014. Let me know what was your favorite piece from this year and what you want to see from me next. Enjoy!
Also, if you haven't ordered a 2015 calendar already, now's your last chance! There are only a few left in stock. Calendars have been marked down 50% for New Years so get yours before they're all gone.
Once again, Happy New Year! Wishing you all the best. xo xo
Lots of love,
Who is Kati?
I'm a fairy mermaid muppet princess who doodles much. Illustrator by day, Fan Girl by night. My inspiration comes from all things cute and girly, and I love making work that inspires young women.
